CATL Freevoy Super Hybrid Battery Sodium Ion Battery Loading

On March 12, Lynk & Co announced that the Lynk 900 is the first in its class to be equipped with the CATL Freevoy Super Hybrid Battery, which has the highest battery energy (52.38kWh), the highest performance (100km/h acceleration in 4 seconds), and the highest charging performance (20~80% fast charging in 17 minutes).

 

In addition, the car's CLTC pure electric range is 280km, and the comprehensive range is 1443km.

Freevoy Super Hybrid Battery is a product released by CATL in October 2024. It is claimed to be the world's first pure electric battery with a range of 400km+ and 4C supercharging function.

 

According to reports, Freevoy Super Hybrid Battery can support "charging for 10 minutes to replenish energy for more than 280km" under the configuration of 400km range, and supports discharge in extremely cold environments of -40℃ and charging in -30℃. Because the battery uses sodium ion battery technology, it has stronger cold resistance.

 

At that time, Gao Huan, CTO of CATL Passenger Vehicle Division, introduced at the meeting that CATL implemented sodium ion battery technology in this super hybrid battery, and pioneered lithium-sodium AB battery system integration technology, so as to support discharge in extremely cold environments of -40℃ and charging in -30℃.

 

Specifically, this lithium-sodium AB battery system integration technology increases low-temperature endurance by 5%. In addition, using sodium-ion batteries as the SOC detection scale, the pure electric range is increased by more than 10km. Equipped with CATL's full-temperature range power precision calculation BMS technology, the overall system control accuracy is improved by 30%.

 

It can be seen that although it is a "mix and match", CATL sodium-ion batteries are installed together with lithium-ion batteries!
