On June 22, ees Europe, Europe's largest international battery and energy storage system exhibition, concluded successfully. CATL appeared at the exhibition with CATL Tianheng energy storage system, EnerOne+, EnerA, Shenxing super charging pile and other products. At this exhibition, two companies reached energy storage business cooperation with CATL. Rolls-Royce announced a strategic cooperation with CATL to introduce the CATL Tianheng energy storage system to the EU and UK markets. Currently, the CATL Tianheng energy storage system has been integrated into Rolls-Royce. -Royce) mtu EnergyPack QG solution. You may not be familiar with Rolls-Royce. In fact, it and the luxury car brand Rolls-Royce were originally owned by the same company, and both are businesses under the Rolls-Royce brand.
Rolls-Royce has decades of experience in the power generation and energy industry. At the end of last year, the two parties signed a long-term supply agreement for more than 10GWh of storage capacity. Not only that, the two parties have completed the delivery of multiple EnerOne product line projects in the EU region and signed project cooperation for multiple EnerC+ product lines. This signing will enhance the capabilities of both parties in implementing large-scale and complex grid-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) projects, and is expected to accelerate the energy transformation in the UK and EU regions and create a more sustainable energy infrastructure. In addition, Israel's largest integrator BLEnergy also announced its cooperation with CATL to jointly develop modular energy storage solutions. It is understood that CATL’s global energy storage market share has reached 40%, and it has a global service network of more than 500 sites; currently, it has established cooperative relationships with many top companies in the industry such as NextEra, Fluence, Wartsila, Powin and FlexGen. More than 1,000 energy storage projects have been successfully implemented in more than 40 countries and regions.
The CATL TENER energy storage system is a product that integrates "5 years of zero attenuation, 6.25 MWh, and multi-dimensional security". From the perspective of electrolyte technology, the TENER energy storage system uses bionic SEI and self-assembly electrolyte technology, which can achieve zero attenuation of power and capacity in 5 years, and the power consumption of auxiliary machinery is controllable and does not increase throughout its life cycle; at the same time, CATL stated that, The TENER energy storage system solves the problem of high lithium metal activity in "zero attenuation" batteries and effectively curbs thermal runaway caused by oxidation reactions.
In terms of size, the TENER energy storage system can achieve 6.25 MWh of energy in a standard 20-foot container, increasing the energy density per unit area by 30% and reducing the floor space by 20%. From the perspective of energy storage cells, the TENER energy storage system is equipped with L series products of long-life zero-attenuation batteries dedicated for energy storage, with an energy density of 430Wh/L.
CATL has established a dedicated, end-to-end quality management system for TENER. This system encompasses technology development, proof testing, operation monitoring, and safety failure analysis. It sets safety goals for various scenarios and develops technologies to meet these goals. Continuous monitoring of the system's operation is carried out through AI-powered risk monitoring and early warning measures to verify and optimize its safety design goals.
With its exceptional safety performance, five-year zero degradation, and robust 6.25 MWh capacity, TENER is poised to revolutionize global energy storage technology, driving high efficiency and widespread adoption.
