On December 14, 2024, the China New Energy Heavy Truck Operations Conference and the Green Heavy Truck Annual Awards Ceremony were held in Guangzhou. EVE Energy was awarded the "2024 Green Heavy Truck Annual Quality Supplier Award." Jiang Jibing, Vice President of EVE Energy and Director of the Battery System Research Institute, was invited to attend and deliver a speech.
In his speech, Jiang Jibing stated that EVE Energy has been deeply involved in the commercial vehicle battery sector for nearly a decade, always focusing on customer needs. The company has gained widespread market recognition with its customer-centric approach. In the first half of 2024, EVE Energy ranked second globally in terms of installed battery capacity for medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles, and ranked second in China in the same field.
Driven by both market demand and policies, new energy heavy trucks are increasingly penetrating industries such as ports and steel mills, as well as medium- and long-distance trunk transportation. However, challenges remain, such as frequent recharging, short driving ranges, and harsh operational conditions. To address these issues, EVE Energy launched its commercial vehicle battery brand, "Open-Source Batteries," aimed at creating value through technological innovation, offering cost-saving and efficient solutions for users.
1. Faster Charging: Through an innovative material system, the ultra-low internal resistance cells support 4C ultra-fast charging, allowing the battery to reach 80% SOC in just 15 minutes. The system design introduces the industry's first top-and-bottom liquid cooling technology, effectively addressing the heat generation issue during fast charging.
2. Lighter Weight: Utilizing CTP (cell-to-pack) technology and full-domain foaming technology, the battery enhances space utilization and torsional rigidity, while also achieving lightweight design. The product has passed the 9x national vibration tests, ensuring durability in the harsh conditions typical of commercial vehicles.
3. Longer Lifespan: Through innovations in thermal and force management systems, EVE Energy has addressed the issue of battery swelling in prismatic cells while ensuring that the battery's cycle life reaches 5,000 cycles, with more than 80% of its remaining capacity intact. This meets the full lifecycle requirements of heavy-duty trucks.
4. Better Cost Efficiency: By adopting standardized battery and platform-based system designs, EVE Energy has made it possible for the product to evolve rapidly, forming scale effects across the industrial chain. This enables users to enjoy better products at a lower cost.
EVE Energy's Open-Source Batteries have already been deployed in core products of Beiben Trucks and Dongfeng Motor, with more than 50 collaborative projects. Additionally, the company has launched the "636" long-range version of the heavy truck in collaboration with SANY Heavy Trucks, with mass production expected to begin in Q1 2025.
With advanced technology and innovative products, EVE Battery is partnering with more industry players to bring "faster, lighter, longer-lasting, and more cost-effective" all-scenario solutions to new energy heavy trucks, accelerating the new era of new energy heavy truck operations.
