CATL said that this catl power battery is a solution tailor-made by CATL for the passenger car industry. It has an ultra-long life of 15 years and 1.5 million kilometers, an ultra-high energy density of 175Wh/kg, and IP69-level super safe protection performance.

It is understood that on an annual basis, for non-operating buses with less than 9 seats, the service life is 15 years; while for non-operating buses with more than 9 seats, this period is shortened to 10 years. In addition, the service life of the vehicle is also subject to the driving mileage and annual inspection standards: once the driving mileage reaches 600,000 kilometers or the annual inspection fails, the vehicle will be forcibly scrapped.

In terms of mileage, the average mileage of medium-sized passenger taxis is 500,000 kilometers; the mileage of large-sized passenger taxis and rental passenger cars can also reach 600,000 kilometers.

The ultra-long life span of 15 years and 1.5 million kilometers obviously allows the battery warranty to cover the entire life cycle of the vehicle. Even based on the mileage, it is not a problem that the two generations of vehicles use the same power battery.

The energy density of 175Wh/kg is claimed to be the highest energy density in the bus industry. CATL applies a U-shaped sealing solution, a zero-draft angle upper cover design, and an integrated thermal management box to increase the volumetric energy density by 22%, making the battery lighter and smaller. In terms of safety, the Tianxing Battery-Bus version uses advanced technologies such as U-shaped zero-margin sealing, integrated thermal management boxes, highly integrated sampling and conductive components in the manufacturing process, which increases the volumetric energy density by 22%, further Improved the overall performance of the battery system. In addition, the battery also has IP69 protection performance, which can meet the 72-hour water immersion protection standard, effectively solving the potential safety hazard of water intrusion into the battery and providing a solid guarantee for the safe operation of new energy buses. CATL said that the Tianxing (B)-passenger car version of the commercial power battery is about to be mass-produced. It has cooperated with Yutong, King Long, Jinlv, Higer, CRRC, ZTO, Yaxing, Foton, Geely, Nanjing Jinlong, and Ankai Thirteen car companies including , Gree, and Dongfeng will develop 80 models.

At the new product launch conference, CATL stated that Tianxing Battery-Passenger Vehicle Edition has worked with 13 customers to achieve in-depth development on 80 models, and new models will be released soon. CATL  new energy bus strategy

CATL has been developing its presence in the commercial vehicle market since its establishment.
